MEDICAL MASSAGE THERAPY FOR AUTO INJURY
Soft Issue Studio offers medical massage therapy for people recovering from auto injuries and motor vehicle accidents (MVA) in Portland, Oregon. Medical massage can be an important supportive modality during recovery, providing focused care for the soft tissue changes that can follow an accident.
Care is focused on accident-related areas of concern and adapts to how your body responds and your needs change throughout recovery.
For eligible Personal Injury Protection (PIP) claims, medical massage therapy may be covered and billed directly to your auto insurance carrier. Before scheduling your first appointment, please complete the coverage verification form below.

The body does not always register the full effects of an accident immediately. Adrenaline, endorphins, and the stress response can temporarily alter the perception of pain, while soreness, stiffness, headaches, muscular tension, or restriction may become more noticeable in the days that follow.
As the body settles from the stress of the impact, it may brace around vulnerable areas or redistribute effort elsewhere, creating patterns of guarding and compensation. Treatment at the studio addresses tension, tenderness, restriction, and these changing soft tissue patterns as they present, supporting a decrease in pain and a gradual return to greater comfort and ease in movement.

Personal Injury Protection (PIP) is part of Oregon auto insurance coverage. It helps pay for reasonable and necessary medical expenses related to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident, regardless of who was at fault.
Oregon PIP generally provides at least $15,000 in medical benefits for qualifying expenses incurred within two years of the injury. Your individual policy may provide additional coverage.
Massage therapy may be covered through PIP when it is considered reasonable and necessary care for your accident-related injuries.
For accepted auto injury cases, eligible treatment is billed directly to your auto insurance carrier. Coverage and any applicable requirements are reviewed before care begins.
